Implemented strategies are tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of the individual with disability, according to their activities of daily living and AT, behaviour management needs and understanding of OSH obligations.The varying demands and stressors placed on the family of an individual with disability are recognised, considered and reduced as much as possible.
Self Management and Micro-Enterprises
Self management often involves the family taking on the role of employer in relation to OSH. Individuals and families need to ensure they provide a safe work place within a home environment,provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision as per the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 (OSH Act) and choose suitable manual tasks equipment. SafeActions is extremely familiar with and skilled at using the legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice to deliver customised interventions that will assist individuals with disability who self-manage to ensure they have the specific policies, procedures, standards and guidelines to ensure the compliance with relevant Acts, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.
