The Manual Handling / Manual Tasks for Nursing Students and Nurses short course covers:

Theory on Work Health and Safety, Risk Management, Codes of Practice Managing Work Health and Safety Risks and Hazardous Manual Tasks and common equipment controls

Sitting to standing
-
Rolling
-
Slide sheet for bed moves
-
Sling insertion

Hoisting bed to chair
In this 2.75 hour course, nursing students are coached in self protective behaviours, common nursing tasks and the use of equipment to reduce the risk or effort.

This course is ideal for meeting the requirements of manual handling training prior to clinical placement.

​Course certificate is accepted at Notre Dame University School of Nursing and ECU Joondalup.

Dates are posted on the website for courses in Feb/ March and July/ August. Courses are conducted at the SafeActions office in Bayswater. Check all the details here:
