Nursing Students/ Carers/ SW

This 2.75 hour course meet requirements for manual handling training prior to clinical placement. Certificates are accepted at Notre Dame University, ECU Joondalup, Murdoch and CDU. Attendance certificates provided on the day. It may also meet requirements for manual tasks certificate for many workplaces.

PRE COURSE WORK IS REQUIRED. You will need to print off the worksheet (use this link). Complete all questions and bring completed worksheet with you. Please allow sufficient time (min 30 mins) for this pre course work.

This 3.5 hour course is ideal for orienting you to manual tasks training prior to practical placement.

PRE READING MATERIAL IS REQUIRED.

PLEASE BOOK VIA CURTIN OT FIELDWORK

You will be emailed a worksheet, completion of which will require internet access. You must print the completed worksheet and bring it with you to the training. Please allow sufficient time (min 40 mins) for this pre course work.

Manual Tasks for Therapists / HC refresher

Custom full day course for therapists.

This course will review theory regarding WHS and the latest relevant Australian standards, and Codes of Practice, particularly addressing the impact for therapists.

Coverage of transfers ranging from:

Folding wheelchairs in and out of car and boots

Assistance in walking

Getting up from a fall

Client in and out of a car

Ly to sit on side of bed

Hoisting (full and standing including hoisting from the floor)

Slide sheet uses - wheelchair, bed, positioning slings etc
